Dééfait + The Eurosuite
Shacklewell Arms, E8 2EB , [Venue Details]Somewhere between krautrock, noise rock, decaying psychedelia, and pagan proto-punk, Dééfait makes music like one performs a ritual: in trance, on repeat, and without a safety net.
From the chaotic arteries of Mexico City to the basement venues of the Paris suburbs, Dééfait sculpts noise rock in apnea. Their self-titled debut EP is a noise rite: a wall of guitars, incantatory percussion, and possessed voices. With Dééfait, sound twists, repeats, stretches, until exhaustion and ecstasy.
Dééfait are named after DF, Distrito Federal, another name for the Mexico City that singer Ric Lara grew up in. The Paris noise-rock five-piece released their self-titled debut album on Ici d'ailleurs in October, mixed by Andy Blundell of Gnod. Free entry.
